Some mornings, commuting 65 miles to work is totally worth it. Case in point.

Judging by my inability to blog in oh lets say 2 weeks, well its safe to safe it has been a busy few weeks.
With the wedding quickly approaching we have been racing against the clock- or so it seems- to get things done. Its all down to the little details which just so happen to be the most annoying.

So forgive me for falling off the earth this month, I swear I am still here. Here's a recap of what's been going on:

• Invitations are printed. Envelopes addressed. Let the assembly begin.
• Awesome monograms ordered for wedding programs. Program design underway.
• Tablecloths- about that. I find the fact that if a rental place doesn't have enough of what you need and then choosing to inform me that for them to order the additional for me will cost me a nice penny extra. I get the business, I have a degree. But for me to pay extra for something you Mr. Renter will profit off of for years to come is absurd. So, thanks to the handy internet, I will get my linens cheaper by buying them and I will show you. Seriously, the wedding rental business is amusing.
• Menu finalized, well sort of.
• Ceremony music- kind of done. 

So that's been the past two weeks, wedding wise. After stressing over little details far too much, things that really don't matter, in swept the fiance to save the day. I had asked for missing addresses and he jumped on it. Needed to remind groomsmen of tuxes and he had it done before I could even process my thoughts. Fixing our flight for the honeymoon- done. Our original flight was supposed to leave at 6 am arrive by 1pm. That somehow changed and left us with a 7 hour layover in Miami and not arriving until 8pm. I have news for you airlines, I am not going to wake up at 6am and not get there until 8pm, unacceptable. It also just happens that airports are not my "happy" place and I would rather not spend my first day married in one. So, Zach to the rescue and we now have a direct flight and will arrive in Jamaica at 11am! Have I mentioned how lucky I am. Seriously, he is amazing. It really is the little things :)

There we have it, two weeks worth of rants. I cannot complain, regardless of the little irritants. Life has been wonderful here lately. Not to mention that the weather has been absolutely fabulous.

Life is good.

reminiscing is for the later years...

This weekend was much needed. I feel so refreshed and ready for the world ahead. All it took was a little weekend with 2 of my best friends in Nashville. Since Lindsay moved we decided to have a celebratory weekend to celebrate her moving, new jobs, birthdays and more. It had been since August that Lindsay, Amanda and I had all gotten together and it was such a treat! 

I rode up with Amanda and Jordan which was a lot of fun catching up, talking about jobs, their new opportunity, and much more! 

Friday night we played Settlers, if you haven't played it yet its quite fun. Plus Amanda won on her first time. Our board was intense.. 

 We spent the weekend catching up, talking, reminising a little, shopping, eating and enjoying time together. 

We determined that we beat the odds, considering we've been through a lot and are still so close, in short: 

• High school and cheerleading 
• Auburn and being roommates
• Planning Weddings 
• Moving away

And yet still to this day, they are two of the first I call when I have news (good or bad) or just to talk or rant. I am a lucky girl to have such wonderful friends that I can go months without seeing and then its like no time has passed. Plus it helps that our Husbands/Fiance all get along too :)

Its been a long week. Having Zach home last week officially spoiled me. After a busy work week and a 5 hour commute from home, reflection time was needed. One of my favorite books is The Last Lecture. If you have not read this, then please go buy it and read it, honestly its amazing.

Randy Paush has so many amazing quotes throughout the book, but this one I stumbled upon and was exactly what I needed this week. 

 

 He hit the nail on the head with that one. So my goal, is to remember to stay positive, something that I used to be so much better at. To remember that everyday is a blessing from God. To be thankful for what I can do and to just live happier and worry free.

I wish I knew the art of letterpress.
I wish I would have more knowledge on graphic design.

See Hobby Lobby has these Letterpress kits. The whole kit and kaboodle. I am itching to learn this art, but realistically, when would I and what would I use it for post wedding. I would love to design invitations, programs and such... but alas the skills are just not quite there.

Maybe one day I will invest. We shall see.
