Tennessee Implant.

I have a lot to learn about Tennessee. A lot. 

For starters, I realized on my drive up from Sweet Home Alabama, that I had no idea who the governor of the state was, a thought that for some reason really bothered. I have since Googled this.

I've started compiling a funny little list of things I have learned or still need to determine. Enjoy.

1. In Cool Springs (which I have yet to decide if it is part of Franklin or Brentwood) you cannot buy wine in the grocery store. Only beer can be sold at a grocery store. Spirit stores are the only places that can sell Wine/Liqour and apparently they are not allowed to sell Beer. Or at least this is what a sweet lady who is an implant from California told me as I scoured Target for Wine. 

2. In Alabama, when I need to turn left at a red light I look for the "Yield on Green." I have yet to see one of these here, instead I have only saw signs saying "turn light only." For some reason, I do not like this. I still don't know if I can turn left at any of them without a turn light....I will let you know if I get a ticket. Ha.

3. I have no clue what county I will be residing in, no clue what county's neighbor where I live. This could be a problem considering the outbreak of tornadoes in the south this spring. Again, I guess I will need to Google.

4. There are more "Inns" in Tennessee than I have ever saw before. None of which I would dare stay at. Its really ridiculous how many non chain hotels reside on the interstate. Whatever happened to a good Holiday Inn. The Polk Inn doesn't sound all that grand.

5. I assumed wrong that it would be at least 3 degrees cooler here than it is in Alabama.

6. The sunsets are amazing. Mainly due to the gorgeous mountain ranges.

7. I am already tired of University of Tennessee flags. I would honestly rather see an UA flag any day. That orange is just far too obnoxious.

something borrowed.

Every now and then I read a book and am hooked. Then the movie is slated to be release and I get giddy. Example: Time Traveler's Wife. Amazing book and awesome movie.

This year though, it's Emily Giffin's Something Borrowed. This book was just such a good "chick" book. The movie is coming out this May and I am already excited! It will be a fantastic girls night movie. 

Zach and mine's summer movie list is already underway! This will be a great one to start off the season!

moving part 1.

This weekend was busy...we moved. Or well Zach moved in and I just moved things :)

We have officially began unpacking into our new nest. Zach is living there and loving it now, while I wait until May.

I would love to be up there now, there is so much potential and stuff I still want to get done. But I will be up there next weekend to continue my decorating and getting asked "What is that for?" and "Do we need that?"

Speaking of which- decorative bathroom towels got vetoed and tossed back in the linen closet by Zach. He said the towel rack was for his towels, not some tasseled towels. Now on the purchase list, a decorative towel rack to hang.

Special thanks to my parents, Zach's dad, Gavin, Lindsay and Caleb for their help! With all the guys there I didn't have to move one piece of furniture- horray! Instead Lindsay and I unpacked and started on a wall collage. We are officially pros.

exciting change.

Change. We don't like it. We fear it, but we can't stop it from coming. We either adapt to change or we get left behind. It hurts to grow, anybody who tells you it doesn't is lying, but here's the truth sometimes the more things change the more they stay the same. And sometimes, oh, sometimes change is good. Sometimes change is everything.

It can finally be official...Zach and I have a plan.

 

This has been a very long process to figure out where and what we were going to do after the wedding, but I am excited to announce that we now have a plan! Zach accepted an architecture job in Franklin, Tennessee. He is actually moving into an apartment this weekend. So after the wedding we will be residents of Tennessee. One plus to this move- no state income tax. Only an accounting major would get that excited over taxes. 

 

Its a bitter, very bittersweet move. I love my job, and coworkers. I hate to move and not see the people who I have became so close to everyday! It is going to be a difficult adjustment. Hopefully, though plans with work will soon unfold and I can share more on that. 

Thank you, Lord for answering prayers. For providing Zach with such an awesome opportunity and releiving much stress. God is good, all the time.
